2 years after Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed to deploy submersible service in Nha Trang, submarine tour service officially went into operation to domestic and foreign tourists in April at Hon Tre Island, only days before the 47th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam war.
Deepview24, built by the Triton Submarines Company in the United States, is more than 15 meters long, weighs nearly 55 tons and is equipped with modern machinery. Vinpearl, the subsidiary of Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup behind the tours, says that with enormous 140-mm acrylic windows, this 24-seat transparent-walled tourist submarine is a glass walkway under the ocean which tourists can totally walk within. During 30 minutes of the submarine tour, passengers can see the space stretching endlessly under the immense ocean. Vsitors will learn about the local fish and aquatic species, corals in the marine environment through the insightful commentary of the guide.
