DAY
01: Chiang Mai – Doi Angkhang (L)
Departure from hotel in Chiang Mai and proceed to Doi Angkhang National Park
where is famous for its cool climate all year round. You can explore the Royal
Angkhang Station Project and visit hill tribe villages to learn more about their
daily life. To get there, take Highway No. 107 (Chiang Mai-Fang), turn left at
an intersection around Km. 137 (Mae Kha Market) and proceed for another 25
kilometers to Doi Ang Khang. As the route is filled with steep s-curves, an
experienced driver and vehicles in good condition are required. The local truck
(Song Taew) from Mae Kha Market offers chartered service to the mountain. Royal
Angkhang Agriculture Station Project is located in the valley of Doi Ang Khang,
the station is designated for conducting experiments on possible temperate
plants to be grown in Thailand. The experiment is aimed to promote the
cultivation of cash crops to replace hill tribes' opium plantations. Inside the
station, there are beautifully landscaped flower gardens, a restaurant and
plantations. Lunch is included

DAY
02: Doi Angkhang – Mae Kham (B, L)
After breakfast, check
out and visit Kob Dong village (Muser ethnic village) then proceed to Nor
Lae village (Palong ethnic village) on the border between Thailand & Burma.
You can walk a bit in the forest or climb the hill for breathtaking view points
over mountains and valleys and see rhododendron trees (the blossom period is
between November & February). Drive down via Fang to Thaton and lunch is
served. Then drive via Mae Chan continue to visit Mae Fah Luang & Doi Tung:
visit the beautiful garden of Mae Fah Luang & Royal chalet, continue to Doi
Thung where you have a panoramic view over Burma during clear weather, down by a
small road along the Burmese border and continue to Mae Kham district for
overnight.

03: Mae Kham – Chiang Rai – Mae Suay (B, L)
Leave early morning and
drive to Tham Pa Asha Thong temple surrounded by hills. Because of its isolated
situation the monks go begging alms in morning by horse. Continue to Chiang Rai
and enjoy a pleasant tour including the Trishaw ride, the favorite local mode of
transportation, through Chiang Rai’s residential area and market place and visit
Wat Phra Keow which once, during the 13th century, housed the Emerald
Buddha now in Bangkok. Lunch at local restaurant

DAY
04: Mae Suay – Doi Wawi – Chiang Mai (B)
Drive to Doi Wavi, on
the way beautiful view on the lake, this area is inhabited by many hill tribe,
Akha, Lisu, Lahu, Yunnanese, during this day on the way up and down you will
make stop to visit villages. Visit a tea plantation in Doi Wavi, tea tasting &
demonstration, lunch at Laulee Resort in Wavi. Afternoon on the way back you can
stop in some villages, back to Mae Suai and continue to Chiang Mai, on arrival
in CNX, transfer to hotel or airport.

second additional 1 hour activity can be booed at a nominal charge but as a free
activity you are welcome to go cycling by yourself. We will give you a road map
of recommended itineraries.
