Laos,

Set on a peninsula along the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers, Luang Prabang Tour has a sleepy feel to it as the waters meander along the tree-lined banks. The city is home to thousands of monks and is evidenced by the hundreds of temples that dot the roads and small laneways of the town.

Brief Itinerary

  • Day 1Luang Prabang arrival
  • Day 2Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Cave
  • Day 3Luang Prabang - Departure

Wake up on the morning to watch the collecting ceremony where the towns' monks barefoot down the sidewalks to collect offerings from the locals. Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Luang Prabang - arrival

Luang Prabang is perhaps the preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. Landing in Luang Prabang, you will be met by our guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in before we start our Luang Prabang Tour.

  • Day 2

Luang Prabang - Full day city tour (B)

For early risers, there is a very special dawn visit to watch the monks collecting the alms.  As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks leave their pagodas and walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents.  It is a beautiful, serene ceremony that highlights the spiritualism of the Laos people. Visit Morning Market where you can find all ingredients for local food. Return to your hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign. Continue your Luang Prabang tour with the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai.

In the afternoon, visit the city's oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represent the classical architecture of Luang Prabang temple, then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, explore Street Night Bazaar, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textile by hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.
  • Day 3

Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves - Departure (B)

After breakfast, board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Return to the town at noon time.

Afternoon, you will be free until a good time drive to the airport for your departure flight.
