Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Day 1: Hanoi arrival

    Upon arrival in Hanoi – a thousand years Capital, you are met and transfer to hotel in the city centre.

    Have free time at leisure.

    Overnight in Hanoi.

  • Day 2

    Day 2: Hanoi city (Breakfast)

    The day starts with visit to the complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh, the Nation’s founder, containing Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, and his house on stilts. This complex also comprises the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of city.

    Next, we visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology which successfully presents the recognition of Vietnam as a multi-ethnic country and promotes socio-cultural diversity.

    In the afternoon, return to city central, visit to the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam dating back to the 11th century. Discover the famed Old Quarter on foot. Walk through the hidden alleys, amaze at the old styled tube houses, visit the lively local market. Next, hop on a traditional bicycle rickshaw move at leisure pace that’s perfect for photos and slow-moving sightseeing. Seat back and relax while your driver weaves through the busy streets, dodging speeding motorbikes and rolling past French colonial houses. Followed by the Water Puppet show – a uniquely Northern Vietnamese art form depicting scenes from rural life and episodes of national history.

  • Day 3

    Day 3: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

    Make an early morning departure from Hanoi by shuttle bus and drive 3.5hours through the Red River Delta on our way to Halong city. Upon arrival, the crew will greet us abroad the traditional style junk with a refreshing welcome drink and then the cruise begins!

    While navigating the way through the emerald waters and limestone islands, lunch is served with delicious fresh seafood (vegetarians are also catered for). As cruising through the bay, marvel at the amazing karst scenery with different formations. Halong Bay is littered with hidden caves and grottoes and we’ll take some time to explore one of these. For those felling active you then can explore the bay by sea kayak. After the dinner, night fishing is available on the main deck.

  • Day 4

    Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Danang – Hoian (Brunch)

    Early risers can enjoy the sunrise and the quiet breath-taking beauty of Halong Bay’s landscape. We continue cruising to explore more of the bay and enjoy the brunch breakfast before returning to the Jetty at noon time. Then shuttle bus will pick you up and transfer back to Hanoi. Then private transfer will take you to Noi Bai airport for 1hr flight to Danang city.

    Land in Danang airport and make the 40-minute drive (no tour guide) to the charming town of Hoi An.

  • Day 5

    Day 5: Hoian ancient town (Breakfast)

    Today is fulfilled with interesting activities. Setting off from your hotel, a short vehicle ride will take you to the boat pier for a boating to Cam Kim. We walk a bit to the bike store to have your bike. Jump on your bike and cycle to a traditional boat builder’s yard. Chat with local and learn more about local technical making wooden boat.

    Follow your ride, we leisurely pedal into the beautiful rural countryside. Zig-zag ride through peaceful villages, passing rice paddies and farmlands will lead you to explore this sleepy island villages. Stop at local families, interact with them about local life, daily routine as well as their farming, mat weaving, and making rice crackers. Hands-on and have your own interesting experience. Keep riding to the boat pier where your waiting boat will take you back to Hoi An town.

    Take a guided walking tour around Hoi An Ancient Town. Visit the Japanese covered bridge, Chinese assembly hall, a typical Vietnamese merchant’s house, one of the interesting museums and the local market. There’re numerous art galleries, souvenirs and tailor shops where you can get some express made-to-order clothes if you like. The next visit is to home of a craftsman in the old streets. Here you’ll have a brief introduction to the history, shape and color of the lanterns as well as stages of making them. After that you can make a lantern by your own, decorate, pack and keep it as a souvenir of your time in Hoi An.

  • Day 6

    Day 6: Hoian – Da Nang – Saigon (Breakfast)

    Take a short flight to Saigon (former name of Ho Chi Minh City) – an important economic central in Vietnam. It also has some very imposing colonial architecture which belies in fascinating past. Almost a hundred years of French rule bestowed the Central Post Office, a pearl of colonial architecture designed by Gustave Eiffel.

    Begin exploring the sights of the city. Get far off of the tourist track with a unique walking excursion by foot through Ho Chi Minh City's Cho Lon District, or "big market". Sometimes referred to as Saigon's Chinatown district, explore the vivid and distinct charm of this little-explored corner of the city - and learn the local secrets behind one of the world's oldest and largest Chinatowns.

    Return to city downtown, visit the War Remnant Museum and take a stroll around the impressive old French-built post office and Notre Dame Cathedral before continuing to the City Hall area, another grand old colonial-era relic. Then leave guests free to explore the famous Dong Khoi area, home to the legendary Continental Hotel, made famous by Graham Greene in the Quiet American, and lots of popular restaurants, bars and boutiques.

  • Day 7

    Day 7: Saigon – Full day to Mekong Delta (Breakfast)

    Leave bustling Saigon behind, head out to un-touched areas not well-known by tourists in Ben Tre. Board the Apricot Cruise, featuring open on all sides to allow the river breezes to flow freely. From the comfort of your cruise, meander down the Mekong observing local life play out along the river banks. Stop at some local families and see how local traditional methods utilize every bit of the coconut. Learn how to make local cakes, and why you don’t let a local fortune-teller tell you what is supposed to happen in the future.

     

    It is a full day of interesting experiences: boat rowing through winding water-coconut canals, bike riding along lush rural roads, sampling tasty local cakes, tea with honey, and enjoying lunch served with Mekong specialties at a local restaurant. Relax, enjoy the tour and have memorable experiences. Transfer back to Saigon for overnight.

  • Day 8

    Day 8: Saigon – Yangon (Breakfast)

    You will be free today in Saigon until being transferred to the airport for your flight to next destination of Vietnam Myanmar tour, Yangon the capital city.

    On arrival, you are picked up and transfer to your hotel in Yangon.

    The remainder of day is free at leisure.

  • Day 9

    Day 9: Yangon (Breakfast)

    Morning breakfast at hotel.  the city tour commences with visits to the old colonial-style city center with the gilded SULE PAGODA, dating back over 2,000 years, BOGYOKE (SCOTT'S) MARKET with hundreds of stores (closed on Monday) and a visit of a gems shop. The tour continues to CHAUK HTAT GYI, a huge reclining Buddha image followed by a photo stop made at KARAWEIK HALL, a royal floating barge. An extended visit to SHWEDAGON PAGODA, one of the world's most spectacular religious monuments, will conclude the tour of this picturesque Garden City. The golden dome of the Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold.

  • Day 10

    Day 10: Yangon – Bagan (Breakfast)

     Wake up early and transfer to Yangon airport for flight to Bagan at 6.00am, one of the Asia’s most popular archaeological destinations and one out of two most pre-eminent religious old cities in South East Asia. The sightseeing starts with a visit to Nyaung Oo market – a typical local market; followed by visits to most distinctive pagodas such as Shwezigon Pagoda – the holiest one believed to be enshrined with Buddha tooth and hair; Gubyaukgyi Temple (Wetkyiinn village) – the 13th century ‘cave temple’ with fine frescoes of scenes from Jakatas; Anada Temple – one of the masterpieces surviving and remaining in Bagan and considered to be in the Mon architecture style. A visit to the lacquer ware factory followed by a visit to local village. Then take horse cart along off the beaten track of Bagan Pagodas to reach one of the temples from the top of it we would view the sunset.

  • Day 11

    Day 11: Bagan (Breakfast)

    Get up early and enjoy sunrise balloon (30 ~ 45 minutes, sharing 12 ~ 16 pax/ a balloon) - one of your best moment in Vietnam Myanmar tour.

    Ballooning will depend on the weather condition and in case of cancel the balloon, we will charge USD 10 for administration fees. Please kindly advice to the clients in advance and kindly confirm back to me with their Body Weight. Any passenger in excess of 125kg/ 280 pound or any passenger, who requires the space in the basket for 2 passengers, will be required to book the additional extra space at the time of booking.

    Then go back to hotel and have breakfast. The second day sightseeing at Asia’s best kept archaeological destination includes a visit to Dhamayangyi Temple – the most massive, significant monument in Bagan with finest mortar-less brickwork; Sulamani Temple – close to the Dhamayangyi temple with more sophisticated style of later Bagan temple; another Gubyaukgyi Temple at Myinkaba village – believed to be built for Rajakumar on the death of his father, King Kyansitta, and famous nowadays for its well preserved wall paintings; Manuha Temple – built by detained Mon King Manuha; Ngagayon Temple – similar to the plan of Anada Temple and the main attraction is that the twice life size Buddha Image shelters under the hood of the naga or serpent inside the temple.   • Day 12

    Day 12: Bagan – Mt. Popa – Mandalay (Breakfast)

    Breakfast at the hotel. At 8.00am, drive to Mt. Popa – an extinct volcano at 65km south east of Bagan in the plain region of middle Myanmar and as the one of National parks in Myanmar with preserved forest. It serves as a small oasis in the hot, dry plain of Myanmar. The popularity of Mt. Popa today lies in the interest of religious and mystical beliefs as an abode of spirits, “Nats”. Climb the Taungkalat – believed to be the part of the main volcano blown apart and plugged at the current location. Proceed to Mandalay. Upon arrival Mandalay, transfer to the hotel and check-in.

    Bagan to Mandalay: 130km, it takes about 3 hours by car.

  • Day 13

    Day 13: Mandalay departure ((Breakfast)

    Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
