Ha Noi – Ha Long - Hoi An -

Day 1: Hanoi – Arrival (D)
You arrive in Hanoi – The
official capital city. After relaxation, a brief introduction about our green
Hanoi by our tour guide with one round Hoan
Kiem lake (the lake of the
Restored Sword), stop at Ngoc Son
temple then attending one hour
Water Puppet shows at Thang Long theatre. Follow is your dinner with one of
Hanoi specialty of “Cha Ca” at
Grill Fish restaurant served in Hanoi style. Back to your hotel for overnight.
Day
2: Hanoi – Cooking Class in Hanoi Style (B/L)
Our class offers you an opportunity to
learn how to cook Vietnamese cuisine. We will not just only show you how to cook
but also we will teach you more about Vietnamese culture throughout the course
with the short movie demonstrating a traditional Vietnamese kitchen; by
explaining the importance of rice and its cultural significance; the different
spices, when and how they are used; the local market as well. It is all at Hidden
Hanoi.
After the cooking class & lunch, the
city tour starts with a visit to Vietnam’s Museum
of Ethnology and Van
Mieu (our first national
university), and shopping in the Old
Quarter. Relax and feel the peace
of Hanoi city at Vietnam Café and learn more about cafe culture of Vietnamese
peopole. Overnightin Hanoi.
Day 3: Ha Long Bay – the
World heritage (B/L/D)
You are suggested to wake up early for
enjoying the morning sound of Hanoi and walking around Hoan Kiem lake and doing
Tai Chi exercise with locals. Back to hotel for freshen up and breakfast.
After breakfast, take 3.5 hours drive to Halong
bay, a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. Upon arrival,
transfer to a junk for a cruise around Ha Long Bay with a delicious local
seafood lunch served on board. The cruise passes by many rocks and islets in
many funny shapes. Again your dinner served on board. In the evening, enjoy the
night fishing (optional) and later overnight on board.
Day 4: Halong – Danang/Hoian
(Brunch)
In the morning, your breakfast or brunch
will be served while doing further cruise to explore the beauties of the Bay
before returning to the Wharf. Disembark around 10:30-11.00am. On return, before
heading to Noibai airport we take a short stop at Phu
Lang Pottery village, Then we transfer directly to Noi Bai airport for late
flight to Danand. Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to Hoi
An Town, 35km away. Overnight in
Hoi An.
Day 5: Hoian – Red Bridge
Cooking Class (B/L)
After your breakfast, gathering at the Hai
Scout Café at 98 Nguyen Thai Hoc
Street to meet the Chef. First, we will have a lesson in buying typical
Vietnamese ingredients that are to be used in the cooking lesson later. After
the market visit, you will board the Red Bridge boat for a 25-minute leisure
cruise along the Hoi An River to the Red
Bridge Cooking School. On arrival, we explore the cooking school’s herb and
vegetable garden, before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s popular
dishes, which are a mix of Vietnamese and Chinese cuisines. The cooking lesson
runs for about 2 hours – the Red Bridge’s chef first demonstrates each dish,
before you prepare it yourselves. Included in the class is a brief introduction
to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration). After the lesson, we will sit
down and eat the meals that we have cooked. Then our boat will pick you up at
the Red Bridge School for a river cruise along the Hoi An River back to Hoi An
Town.
The half day walking tour commences
after your cooking lesson. The visit includes Phuc
Kien Temple, The Japanese Covered- bridge, Ancient houses, and some old
streets, shops etc. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 6: Hoian – Danang -
Hue (B)
After breakfast, we will
transfer to Hue in the morning with stop at China
Beach, Marble Mountains and a
visit to Cham museum on
the way. Continue to Hue through Hai
Van pass, arrive in Hue City by noon. Take a short rest before visiting to
the Imperial Citadel of Hue
and King Tu Duc’s tomb.
Over night in Hue.
Day 7: Hue - Cooking
class in Hue Style (B/L)
Regarded by many as the culinary capital
of Vietnam, Hue takes its culinary cues from its royal heritage. This half day
cooking class, we follow Mrs. Cuc,
the owner of Y Thao Garden House to Dong
Ba central market, where she gives an instruction on how to choose food for
our cooking lesson at 9:30 a.m. at Y Thao Garden House. Lunch is the food we
prepare.
In the afternoon we take boat trip on
the Huong River to visit Thien
Mu pagoda. Overnight in Hue.
Day 8: Hue – Ho Chi Minh
city (B)
Free time until flight to
Hochiminh city. On arrival, you will have a quick view of Hochiminh city with
visit to Reunification Palace,
Notre Dame Cathedral and Ben
Thanh Market. Overnight in Hochiminh city.
Day
9: Ho Chi Minh City– Cooking in Southern style (B/L)
In the morning, we will enjoy a cooking
lesson at Mai’s Home with
daily menu. During some hours, you discover the culture of Vietnamese culinary
art. With our Grand Chefs, participants will entertain a "Hands-on" cooking of
Vietnamese traditional dishes. Full of joy and pride, you savor your own
culinary creation. When you are back home, with full of emotion, a handbook with
recipes will help you to reproduce the dishes to make surprise to your family,
your friends!
In the afternoon, discover more about
our hectic city by visiting the Fito
Traditional Medicine Museum, China
Town with, Thien Hau Pagoda
and Binh Tay Market for shopping.
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City -
Mekong Delta (B/L)
In the morning,
take 2 hour drive southwest of Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta which is
known as the rice bowl of Vietnam. Upon arrival, take a boat cruise along islets
and tropical orchards through the canal of Vam Xep to reach a small islet,
followed by a relaxing walk along shady and palm fringed trails passing by local
villages where you can see their peaceful daily life. Stop en route to sip
special tea with honey and sample fruits with a local family and share their
stories of life in the Mekong Delta. They will guide you on a walk through their
orchard and explain how tropical fruits are grown. Then continue the journey
with a paddled sampan through the narrow, tree-lined canals of Mekong River. Stop
at Garden Restaurant for lunch in Mekong delta style meal with “Elephant Ear”
fish then visit handicraft
villages and a coconut candy factory before returning on shore for driving back
to Ho Chi Minh City for overnight.
Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City –
Departure (B)
Free time for shopping or
optional visits before transferring to Tan Son Nhat airport for departure.
