Detailed Itinerary

• Day 1

  Hanoi – First arrival

  Welcome to Vietnam! Our guide and driver will warmly welcome you at airport and escort you to your hotel in the city center for relax after long flight. 

  Overnight in Hanoi.

• Day 2

  Hanoi city highlights (Breakfast)

  You’ll have the whole day to explore Vietnam’s capital city. Your guide will take you to the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam dating back to the 11th century, and a popular attraction, as is Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his modest stilt house where he chose to live and work. We will also visit the museum dedicated to his memory.

  In the afternoon, proceed to the most beautiful of Hanoi’s museums, The Ethnology museum. This showpiece provides a fascinating insight into the histories and lifestyle’s of the 54 ethnic groups of Viet Nam. Continue discovering the famed Old Quarter on foot. Walk through the hidden alleys, amaze at the old style tube houses, and visit the lively local market. Then, hop on a traditional bicycle rickshaws move at leisure pace that’s perfect for photos and slow-moving sightseeing. Seat back and relax while your driver weaves through the busy streets, dodging speeding motorbikes and rolling past French colonial houses. Finish the day trip with a coffee at a local café.

  • Short and tank top are not allowed in Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
  • Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed on Mon & Fri afternoon, the Museum of Ethnology is closed on Mons. 
• Day 3

  Hanoi – Halong Bay (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

   Depart Hanoi and drive about three hours and thirty minutes to reach the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. Spend the next few days cruising on the jade waters, admiring the sublime landscape of limestone karsts aboard a traditional junk boat.  As the sun sets enjoy cocktails on the deck and a gourmet dinner.

• Day 4

  Halong Bay (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

  Explore the far corners of the bay away where remote sandy beaches and clear water make an ideal spot for swimming.  Paddle your way through secluded lagoons by kayak for an up-close look at the jungle covered karsts and caves.

• Day 5

  Halong Bay – Hanoi – Da Nang – Hoian (Brunch)

  Explore the far corners of the bay away where remote sandy beaches and clear water makeFor early risers there is Tai Chi lesson on the sun deck of the boat. For those not wanting to be part of this is just to sleep on. A light breakfast is served after the session and the boat starts up again and heading to Sung Sot (Surprise Grotto) and you take a trip into this huge cave consisting of 3 parts.

  Come back to the boat and a lovely brunch served by the crew. During brunch boat has started its journey towards the port and you make up and check out of the cabins.

  Back in the harbor at 11:00 and drive back to Hanoi’s airport. Take a short flight to Danang City. 

  Upon arrival, driver meets and transfers you to your hotel in Hoian town.

• Day 6

  Hoian ancient town & Lantern making (Breakfast)

  This UNESCO recognized town has been artfully restored to its former glory and its quaint architecture. In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour of the charming town to discover a preserved pagoda, assembly hall and beautiful covered bridge – living links to Hoi An’s ancient past. Visit a local workshop and learn how to make your own miniature Hoi An lantern taught by the workshop staff. Take your unique lantern home as souvenir.

  Overnight in Hoian.

• Day 7

  Hoian free (Breakfast)

  Beside the heritage and architecture, Hoi An is renowned for its tailors, food and way of life. Today is your free day for you to do as much or as little as you want.

• Day 8

  Hoian – Da Nang – Nha Trang (Breakfast)

  Today, you take an early morning flight to the seaside city of Nha Trang.

  The remainder of day is free at leisure.

  Overnight in Nha Trang.

• Day 9

  Nha Trang free (Breakfast)

  Have a free day to enjoy beach relax or you can join our optional tour (with surcharge)

  Optional Tour: Nha Trang full day island tour (Joining tour)

  We go to the habour by car; visit Vietnam oceanographic institute. Get on the boat; photo stop at Tringuyen aquarium (outside), snorkel at Mun island; Enjoy local basket boat and explore the life of fishermen at Mieu fishing village. Then come to Bamboo resort for a special seafood lunch, free time to relax and swim at bamboo island till transfer back to the hotel.

  Overnight in Nha Trang. 

• Day 10

  Nha Trang free (Breakfast)

  Free day at leisure and enjoy the beach.

  Overnight in Nha Trang.

• Day 11

  Nha Trang – Ho Chi Minh City (Breakfast)

  Morning is your free time to enjoy the beach.

  In the afternoon, depart to airport for another short flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

  Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to your hotel in city central. Evening is your free time to soak up the surrounding areas.

  In the evening, you can have free time on your own or joining dinner cruise on Saigon River (with surcharge)

  Optional tour: Dinner cruise on Saigon River.

  A world away from the frenetic street life of Saigon is a world-class dining experience on board the beautifully appointed Saigon Princess. Cruise the expansive and endlessly interesting, yet always surprising, Saigon River whilst dining on fresh, sumptuous, authentic Vietnamese or international cuisine.

  Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

• Day 12

  Ho Chi Minh City highlights (Breakfast)

  This morning, we start to explore the sights of the city. Get far off of the tourist track with a unique walking excursion by foot through Ho Chi Minh City's Cho Lon District, or "big market". Sometimes referred to as Saigon's Chinatown district, explore the vivid and distinct charm of this little-explored corner of the city - and learn the local secrets behind one of the world's oldest and largest Chinatowns. Then take a stroll around the impressive old French-built post office and Notre Dame Cathedral before continuing to the City Hall area, another grand old colonial-era relic. Then you are free to explore the famous Dong Khoi area, home to the legendary Continental Hotel, made famous by Graham Greene in the Quiet American, and lots of popular restaurants, bars and boutiques.

  Free time in the afternoon.

• Day 13

  Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta (Breakfast, Lunch)

  Leave bustling Saigon behind, head out to un-touched areas not well-known by tourists in Ben Tre. Board the cruise & meander down the Mekong observing local life play out along the riverbanks. Stop at some local families and see how local traditional methods utilize every bit of the coconut. Learn how to make local cakes.

  It is a full day of interesting experiences: boat rowing through winding water-coconut canals, sampling tasty local cakes, tea with honey, and enjoying lunch served with Mekong specialties. Join us, relax, enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and have memorable experiences.

  Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City for overnight.

• Day 14

  Cu Chi Tunnels by Speedboat (Breakfast) (Joining)

  Discover a vast network of Cu Chi underground passageways built and used by the Viet Cong to evade detection as they moved troops and supplies throughout Ho Chi Minh City’s northern districts.

  Today, take a VIP transfer to Cu Chi – by speedboat. Enjoy the cool breeze while the boat gracefully slips through Saigon River past traditional Mekong River life. Take the chance to view the changing face of Vietnam – from the glittering skyscrapers and busy commercial centers to green paddy fields and peaceful rural areas. Explore Cu Chi tunnel site, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigate an authentic Viet Cong tunnel, and visit different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunition stores, etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years.

  The remainder of day is free at leisure.

  Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City. 

• Day 15

  Ho Chi Minh Departure (Breakfast)

  Enjoy the last moment relax and shopping in city Central. Then driver transfers you back to airport for your departure flight.

CANCELLATION & AMENDMENT POLICY & CHARGES

In practice, VietnamStay always do the best to minimize cancelation penalty for our guests but we must abide by the cancelation policy of each service provider.

Please be advised that during Peak Season (Christmas and New Year) and during Public Holidays different cancellation policies may apply. The cancelation policy for such period will be informed to client(s) case by case.

CHILDREN POLICY (land service only)

• Accompanied child from 1- 4 yrs:  Free of charge if sharing existing bed with parents
• Accompanied child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 30% of adult price if sharing existing bed(s) with parents
• Accompanied child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 50% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
• Accompanied child from 7 – 11 yrs: charge 75% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
• Accompanied  child from 12 yrs up: pay as adult rate
• In case child under 12 yrs using twin share room with an adult, please pay full fare.
