Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1

    HANOI – ARRIVAL

     Upon arrival in Hanoi, VietnamStay Travel’s driver kindly welcomes you. The driver will be holding a sign-board so you easily recognize him.  You are then going to your hotel in the city center (about 35km away, one hour driving). If time permits, you will get to wander along the streets, enjoy the Hanoian specialties, get a rickshaw ride and enjoy traditional water puppet show. Finally, return to your hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.

  • Day 2

    HANOI – NINH BINH – VAN LONG (B/L)

     In the morning, you journey through the countryside to Ninh Binh province. This is the home for the stunning landscapes of Van Long Natural Reserve where the recent Hollywood blockbusters Kong: Skull Island (2017) and Pan (2015) were filmed. The daily life, the nature, local people and natural beauty here will greatly impress you.

     
    In the afternoon, you get on a rowing boat for a visit in the Tam Coc area. The boat trip takes you through the beautiful canals, so called “Halong bay on land”. Overnight in Ninh Binh.
  • Day 3

    NINH BINH - HA LONG BAY – THE WORLD HERITAGE (B/L/D)

     After being picked up at hotel in Ninh Binh, today, you will have a chance to visit several Kong: Skull Island’s filming locations. These include Halong bay, a World Nature Heritage, recognized by UNESCO. Next in the itinerary is the junk cruise. This is when you will discover the corners of the bay, experience the daily life, the cave, the beach and enjoy the special seafood. Overnight on boat in Halong Bay.

  • Day 4

    HALONG – HANOI (B/L)

     Early rise is advised to join a short Tai Chi class on the sundeck with stunning sunrise. Enjoy some coffee and release your feeling to the immense bay with thousands of island and islets. Check out and journey to your hotel in Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.

  • Day 5

    HANOI – DONG HOI- QUANG BINH (B/L)

     Take early flight from Hanoi to Dong Hoi, the land of amazing caves. Visit Phong Nha Cave, which has been recognized by British Cave Research Association as the top cave in the world due to its 4 records: the longest underground river, the highest and longest cave, broadest and most beautiful fine sand beaches inside the caves, the most spectacular stalagmites and stalactites.

     
    Paradise cave – the dry cave, called “underground palace” – is next in the list. Paradise cave is 31 km long. Overnight in Dong Hoi town.
  • Day 6

    QUANG BINH – HUE (B/L)

     Today, you get to discover the thrilled landscapes of Quang Binh. This is where many places were chosen as the filming studios for Kong – Skull Island: Yen Phu village, Tan Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district. You also get to visit local families, tour the villages as well as taking great pictures of the stunning sceneries.

     
    Next, you return to Dong Hoi for lunch before passing the DMZ with stops in Vinh Moc Tunels and Hien Luong Bridge. Check in hotel and overnight in Hue City.
  • Day 7

    HUE CITY (B/-/-)

     After breakfast, you start today with the exploration of Hue city, the capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945 during the reign of the Nguyen dynasty emperors. Next, you journey through Dong Ba where a great array of goods and product, ranging from fresh vegetables to conical hats, is offered. You then visit one of Vietnam’s most important relic – the Citadel, the intricately decorated tomb of Khai Dinh and Minh Mang’s mausoleum, and is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1993. It is located on the left bank of the beautiful Perfume River, which represents the perfect harmony between nature and architecture. Take a boat trip on the river, and visit Thien Mu pagoda. Overnight in Hue city.

  • Day 8

    HUE – DANANG – HOI AN (B/-/-)

     After breakfast, you head to Hoi An, taking a ride on the Highway 1. This ride is reputedly the most beautiful in all Vietnam. It passes many coastal fishing settlements. One of them is Lang Co, famous with its stunning lagoon backdrop. You also go over the famous Hai Van Pass- pass of the ocean clouds. Arrive in Hoi An at noon.

     
    In the afternoon, you go on an easy walking tour around Hoi An ancient town, recently named as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Follow the itinerary, you visit Tan Ky House, a late 18th-century merchant’s residence. The Fukhien Association, also known as the Assembly Hall of the Fujian Chinese Congregation (a place where minority Fujian Chinese could hold meetings) and the Japanese bridge are next. Lastly, you tour the temple of Thien Hau, goddess of the sea and protector of fishermen and sailors. Overnight in Hoi An.
  • Day 9

    COUNTRYSIDE BY SCOOTER – DANANG – SIEM REAP (B/-/-)

     This countryside tour of Hoi An will give you great insights about its local life. Departing from Hotel/Resort in Hoi An, you take a ride over the bridge to Cam Kim island and along the riverside into the beautiful rural countryside. First stop is an Ancestral House of Mr Huynh Ri that dated back to more than 100 years. Next, you get a chance to visit a traditional boat builder yard before setting off to explore the sleepy island villages. Zig-zag riding through the breathtaking scenery of rice paddies and farmland to enjoy the cooling breeze and a great scenery is the next activity on your list. You then learn from friendly local families the handicraft of mat weaving, farming, and how to make (and eat) the perfect ‘Banh Dap’ rice crackers. These are great ways to see the local way of life in Vietnam.

     
    In the afternoon, you visit a local café to fuel up with some local drip-coffee and to learn the art of coffee roasting. After that, gear up for an adrenalin pumping 300-meter bamboo bridge river-crossing combining Binh Giang hamlet and Binh Duong hamlet. Next, you head to the coast at the Thu Bon river mouth, along roads lined with Casuarina Pine and Cashew Nut Trees. Noi Rang market and Duy Hai fish market are next for you to explore the cultural with local buyer and seller (Note: The Noi Rang market will close before 10:00am).
     
    Finally, it is time for Cua Dai Bridge. It offers spectacular panoramic views of Hoi An. The coconut palm fringed Cam Thanh is next. Lastly, the bus drop you off at your hotel to check out. A drive to Danang in the late afternoon before flying to Siem Reap are next on you schedule. Overnight in Siem Reap City.
  • Day 10

    SIEM REAP - ANGKOR COMPLEX (B/L)

     First, you visit the Angkor Thom (big Angkor) – the 3 square km walled. This includes the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon - the giant stone faces with 37 standing tower 4 carved faces, Baphoun - huge temple - mountain in the heart of Angkor Thom, Terrace of Elephants - 2.5m tall wall, the heart of Angkor Thom in front of Baphoun and Phimean Akas, carved elephants and giant graduals. Also, the Terrace of Leper King - a double terrace at the north end of Terrace of Elephants with deeply carved, demons and other mythological figure – is for you to visit. The famous Ta Phromh temple where the first Tomb Raider movie was shot is to be explored as well. Lunch at local restaurant.


    *Angelina Jolie famously appeared at Ta Prohm as Lara Croft in the well-known Tomb Raider (2001) movie makes it is now commonly known as the "Angelina Jolie temple". One site in Ta Prohm that has become famous from the movie is the “Tomb Rider tree” – it is where Lara Croft (in the movie) picked up a jasmine flower before falling into the earth. It would be interesting to stand where she once stood to do the act.
     
    The next activity is a visit to the famous Temple of Cambodia, Angkor Wat – a visually, architecturally and artistically masterpiece. Its massive three tired pyramid crowned by five beehive-like towers rises 65 meters from ground level is ready to impress you. This temple is the centerpiece of any visit to the temple of Angkor. After that, you return to the hotel for some resting time. Overnight in Siem Reap. 
  • Day 11

    LAKE PEAREANG – THE BIRD SANCTUARY & FIELDS - BANGKOK (B)

     After breakfast at your hotel, you are transferred in an air-conditioned vehicle to a local village (8km, 20 minutes from town) where the local scooters await to pick you up (each of you will have a driver) and journey you through the sandy and muddy fields. In order to fully enjoy this bird seeing experience,  you need  to soak in the sense of adventure by riding the scooters, and trekking through the fields until you reach the lake. Then you will embark on the local boat and start viewing the birds.

     
    In season of high level water, you would not be able to access directly to the lake where birds settle, yet you will see some others birds who come nearby the villages.
     
    Return from the lake, you have a chance to interact with a local family, who owns a vegetable plantation nearby their house. There, you understand their way of life as farmers, growing and planting vegetables. Next, lunch is ready for you at the hotel. Lastly, you are transferred to Siem Reap Airport for a flight to Bangkok. After landing, you are picked up by VietnamStay Travel staff and stay in Bangkok City.
  • Day 12

    BANGKOK CITY – FOLLOW HOLLYWOOD (B)

     You begin your day with the panoramic view from State Tower at Lebua at which Hangover Part II was filmed in 2011. Visiting China town is next for a sense of local life. A famous James Bond movie, Tomorrow Never Die in 1997, was filmed in the 44-story Sinn Sathorn Tower on Krung Thonbrui Road.

    The Deer Hunter was a famous Hollywood blockbuster about the Vietnam War involving three buddies from a rough and tumble. This film was bagged five Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actor. Lastly, you are taken to Sai Yok National Park in Kanchanaburi province to visit the filming location of this movie. Overnight in Bangkok City.
  • Day 13

    BANGKOK CITY – PHUKET BEACH (B)

     Today i for you to discover Bangkok City and enjoy some amazing scenes from Hollywood’s series. The Wat Suthat Temple was shot in the “Bangkok car chase” of The Man With The Golden Gun film. Next, you take a boat ride in the canals near Damnoen Saduak Floating Market where you can catch a glimpse of where James Bond acted.

    You then head to Bangkok Airport for an afternoon flight to Phuket where VietnamStay staff picks you up and take you to your hotel in Phuket.
  • Day 14

    PHUKET JAMES BOND SERIES - PHUKET(B/Lunch)

     *Phuket can be seen as a “Hollywood studio” with many well-known movies being shot here, including Leo DiCaprio’s “The Beach”, two James Bond movies, a Star War movie and many more.

     
    Today is for you to discover the surroundings of Phuket: the Bay of Phang Nga with the famous James Bond Island and the Krabi area, where you are going to Railay Beach and Maya Bay.
    You then depart from OA Pier, north of Phuket and Phang Nga Bay direction, to see Koh Panak.  You continue with the canoe cruise to Hong Island and visit the amaizng James Bond Island. Lunch is served on a very nice floating village.
     
    Proceed and transfer back Phuket to relax on your own at hotel. Overnight in Phuket.
  • Day 15

    HOLLY SERIES IN THAILAND (B/Lunch)

     After breakfast, you leave for the pier on Phuket and proceed by speedboat to Phi Phi Island.

    You will arrive Phi Phi Le  for Maya Beach and swim in a nice lagoon. 
    Next is a visit to Viking cave (see from outside only). The scenes of Bond in the movie The Man With The Golden Gun are to be seen. Monkey Beach is next before doing the snorkeling in front of Phi Phi island and enjoy the nice lunch on Phi Phi Don Island.
    You can immense yourself to nature and beaches. You would love to relax and swim in the turquoise sea of Bamboo Island here.
    You then return to Phuket for checking in your hotel. Overnight in Phuket island.
  • Day 16

    PHUKET – BANGKOK - DEPARTURE (B)

     Today is for you to relax before returning to Bangkok for the flight back home.

 A. CANCELLATION POLICY:

The cancellation charges below refer to the non-transferable fee that is charged to the group member who has cancelled their tour:

  • More than 45 days before departure: No cancellation charge
  • Between 45 and 30 days before departure: 10% of total tour cost 
  • Between 30 days and 15 days before departure: 25% of total tour cost
  • Between 15 days and 7 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
  • Less than 7 days before departure: 90% of total tour cost
  • No-show at the airport on the day of arrival/departure: 100% of total tour cost

 

B. CHILDREN POLICY (land service only)

  • Child from 1- 4 yrs:  Free of charge if sharing bed with parents 
  • Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 30% of adult price if sharing existing bed(s) with parents
  • Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 50% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
  • Child from 7 – 11 yrs: charge 75% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
  • Child from 12 yrs up: pay as adult rate
