Detailed Itinerary

• Day 1

  Luang Prabang – arrival

   Luang Prabang 5 Days Tour give you the opportunity to explore the best-preserved city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. Landing in Luang Prabang, you will be met by our guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. 

• Day 2

  Mountain bike tour to the Elephant village & village visit (B/L/D)

   We start our Luang Prabang 5 days tour by visiting Wat Pa Phon Phao, a quiet monastery with a golden stupa. Next stop is in Ban Phanom, a well known cotton and silk hand-weaving village (Lao Lum). Continue on to the grave of Henri Mouhot, the popularized French discoverer of the Angkor Ruins who died here in Luang Prabang in 1861. After visiting these abandoned quarters juxtaposed the running water of the Nam Khan, follow a dusty country road to the wonderfully located “Elephant Village”. In this spiritual place with a view to the jungle and a towering rock face, enjoy your lunch. Your break of relaxation prepares for the next leg of the journey, the walking trip from the Adventure and Elephant camp along an easy track, traversing rice paddy fields and terraced slopes toward the tranqil village. You will be cognizant of the life of rural Lao Tung (Khamu) people. In the afternoon, either arrive at your overnight village or home stay/local “Fair Trek” lodge.

• Day 3

  Full day trekking and Villages, Mountains, Countryside (B/L/D)

   After breakfast the Luang Prabang 5 days tour will go on with some more trekking. Along the hiking trails through the Lao countryside you can observe the locals as they carry out their daily tasks, taking note that foreigners still remain a novelty. The charming villagers are as curious about its observers as you are about them. Visit villages along the way and learn about the various traditional aspects of the minority cultures of Hmong and Khamu tribes. In the afternoon you will arrive back at the village where you stay overnight. (There is an opportunity to stay in the beautifully located Zen NamKhan or Lao Spirit Resort).

  Total walking time about 5-6 hours in total.
• Day 4

  Kayaking on Nam Khan River back to Luang Prabang (B/L)

   After breakfast in your host family or guest house, proceed for another stretch of this adventurous tour experience. A little boat will bring you to the nearby Tad Sae Waterfalls (dry during Jan.-July). Here you have enough time to hang out, have lunch and enjoy the unique scenery. If you wish you can part take on a canopy garden high rope jungle flight, which is installed over the Tad Sae waterfall. The afternoon is the last highlight on this Luang Prabang tour package! Enjoy the refreshing water excursion on the Nam Khan with on a non sinkable kayak. The river is easy to paddle and offers only a few grades 1-2 rapids, even families with children can do.

  The countryside on your paddling trip is dense with banana and teak trees; rice paddies and terrace pineapple plantations. Pass handfuls of isolated Lao Loum and Theung thatched roofed villages, and don´t be shy to practice your Lao by shouting out a sabaaidii at the smiling children... after about 3 to 4 paddling hours (depending on river speed and starting point), arrive in Luang Prabang in the afternoon.
• Day 5

  Luang Prabang – departure (B)

   After breakfast, you will be free before we end our Luang Prabang 5 days tour and drive to the airport for your departure flight.

A. CANCELLATION POLICY:
The cancellation charges below refer to the non-transferable fee that is charged to the group member who has cancelled their tour:

• More than 45 days before departure: No cancellation charge
• Between 45 and 30 days before departure: 10% of total tour cost 
• Between 30 days and 15 days before departure: 25% of total tour cost
• Between 15 days and 7 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
• Less than 7 days before departure: 90% of total tour cost
• No-show at the airport on the day of arrival/departure: 100% of total tour cost

B. CHILDREN POLICY (land service only)

• Child from 1- 4 yrs:  Free of charge if sharing bed with parents 
• Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 30% of adult price if sharing existing bed(s) with parents
• Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 50% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
• Child from 7 – 11 yrs: charge 75% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
• Child from 12 yrs up: pay as adult rate
