Continue your history lesson as 400 year old shop houses in Hoi An and an extremely memorable experience working on rice field. Waiting in the south is the Mekong Delta, the mouth of the dragon. You will discover Saigon, a city of contrasts where modern and ancient Asia competes plainly with colonial France for your attention.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Hanoi arrival (NO MEAL)

     You are arriving in our one-thousand-year-old capital of Hanoi. Your guide will welcome you at Noi Bai International Airport and escort to your hotel in the heart of the city. Time to relax after a long flight before we start our Vietnam Luxury Tour.

     
     
  • Day 2

    Hanoi city – Night train to Lao Cai (B, L)

    You will have the whole day to explore Vietnam’s capital city. Your guide will take you to the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam dating back to the 11th century and Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (close on Monday & Friday afternoon), his modest stilt house and the museum dedicated to his memory.

    Enjoy the street food walking tour. Get more information about Vietnamese traditional cuisines, its culture and the eating habits of locals. Walk through the small streets of the Old Quarter, passing by road-side markets. After walking, we have lunch with Cha ca La Vong, a special deep-fried fish serves with special herbs, onion, dill, crushed peanut, shrimp/fish sauce and noodle.

    In the afternoon, explore Water puppetry which has long been a part of Vietnamese culture. This is a unique experience to touch this art but not at Water Puppet Theater as other tourists do. Visit the home of Artist Phan Thanh Liem, the 7th generation in his family making water puppetry and have chat with him to learn about the Water Puppetry history. Hidden in the matrix alley of Ha Noi, the house is where Mr. Liem creates and blows the spirit of each puppetry. A mini performance on stage – learn how to control the puppetry behind the stage - paint your own favorite puppetry are appealing activities not only children but also their parents.

    In the evening, take the local to Lao Cai – Sapa. (compartment of 4-berths sharing, bed, a/c)

    Note: Shorts and tank tops are not allowed in Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum & pagodas.

  • Day 3

    Lao Cai – Sapa – Suoi Ho – Ma Tra – Ta Phin (B)

    On arrival at Lao Cai Station, picked up by tour guide & driver and transfer to Sapa. Breakfast, then begin the day with a 3km trek through breathtaking landscape to the village of Suoi Ho, home to Hmong minority. From here you can enjoy views over endless rice terraces, and you will have the opportunity to see some of the animals used by the locals. Continuing on to Matra village, you will come across the impressive ruins of a church dating back to the French occupation in the early 1900s. Take a minute to explore this intriguing sight and take some photos.

    Trekking to the village of Ta Phin, you will be able to meet both Black Hmong and Red Dao minorities. The Red Dao are known for their expertise in herbal medicine as well as usage of plants from the land to treat many illnesses. Your guide will be able to introduce you to some Red Dao women who can tell you more about their many remedies. A Red Dao herbal medicine bath can be arranged for you to experience, so please ask.

    Overnight in Sapa.

  • Day 4

    Sapa – Trek O Quy Ho – Black H’Mong Village – Hanoi (B, L)

    After breakfast, we continue our Vietnam luxury tour by transfer a short way north of Sapa town to the quiet valleys and gorges surrounding the village of O Quy Ho. The shallow winding valley sits in the shadow of Indochina’s highest peak – Fangxipan Mountain, and on clear days you can enjoy superb views of the range. Away from the major tourist routes, this trek is the perfect escape. Pass by oolong tea farms before joining a footpath that clings to the contours of the rice terraces and takes you gently down the valley past grazing buffalo and working farmers. Walk along ancient stone paths and hear the story of the Black H’Mong migration to these mountains centuries before. Learn about the distinct cultures, languages and lifestyles that make northwestern Vietnam so fascinating, and visit an authentic Black H’Mong house, home to a local family. Finish your walk with a well-earned cup of green tea before transferring back to Sapa town in the early afternoon. Then limousine Dcar will pick you up and transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi at ~21.00. Overnight in Hanoi.

     

  • Day 5

    Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (B, L, D)

    At 08.00AM, We will continue our Vietnam luxury tour after breakfast, you are picked-up and transferred 3.5hours through the Red River Delta on the way to Halong city.

    Upon arrival, the crew will greet us abroad the traditional style junk with a refreshing welcome drink and then our cruise begins! As navigating your way through the emerald waters and limestone islands you are served a delicious lunch of fresh seafood (vegetarians are also catered for). While cruising through the bay, you can marvel at the amazing karst scenery with different formations. Halong Bay is littered with hidden caves and grottoes and we’ll take some time to explore one of these. For those felling active you then can explore the bay by sea kayak. After your first evening’s dinner, night fishing is available from the boat. Enjoy your night on board on the bay.

  • Day 6

    Ha Long Bay – Hanoi – Flight to Hue (B)

    For early risers there is Tai Chi lesson on the sun deck of the boat. For those not wanting to be part of this is just to sleep on. A light breakfast is served after the session and the boat starts up again and heading to Sung Sot (Surprise Grotto) and you take a trip into this huge cave consisting of 3 parts.

    Come back to the boat and enjoy a lovely brunch served by the crew. During brunch boat has started its journey towards the port and you make up and check out of the cabins.

    Back in the harbor at 11:00 and drive back to Hanoi’s airport. Take a late afternoon flight to Hue city. Upon arrival in Hue Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to Hue City (about 15km from the airport).

  • Day 7

    Hue exploration (B, L)

    Start your exploration of Hue at the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. After exploring the ruins of this wonderful monument take a cyclo through the ‘Old City’ to Tinh Tam Lake where the Emperors used to come to relax, full of lotus flowers in summer there are many local style coffee shops around the lake where university students come to study.

    Continue by car to Minh Mang King’s Tomb (typical formal oriental style), and Thien Mu Pagoda. Passing by Dong Ba market.

    Overnight in Hue.

  • Day 8

    Hue – Danang – Hoian (B)

    After breakfast, transfer to Hoi An Town (with no guide) which is about 120km from Hue. On your way to Hoi An – the highlight of every Vietnam luxury tour, you will travel through Hai Van Pass and Lang Co Beach – one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam.

    Upon arrival in Hoi An, check in your selected hotel. Spend the other half of the day touring & visit the major sight of Hoi An Town with your tour guide: Visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, Chinese Assembly Hall, and the local market, which buzzes on the riverside.

    Spend a night in Hoi An.

  • Day 9

    Hoi An – Tra Que Vegetable village (B, L)

    Today Vietnam luxury tour, you will have an experiential day of living and working with people in the Tra Que village. Leave your hotel, take an easy cycle to Tra Que village. A short stroll around the vegetable garden before having a briefing by the farmers about preparing the land and fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake. Hands-on and have fun experiences of raking the ground, sowing, watering, picking vegetables and other gardening activities.

    Join in the cooking demonstration with some local delicacies including ‘tam huu’ spring roll, Banh xeo or Vietnam local pancake of people in the middle region. Enjoy your lunch at Tra Que Village.

    Next, you will pamper your feet into a wooden basic for Vietnamese traditional foot massage before going back to your hotel. The remainder of day is free at leisure. Overnight in Hoian.

  • Day 10

    Hoi An – Danang – Ho Chi Minh City (B)

    Transfer to Da Nang Airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City - A part of many Vietnam luxury tours. Welcomed by your tour guide, transfer to hotel to check-in and we begin exploring the sights of the city. Learn about the legacy of war at the dramatic War Remnants Museum. Also take a visit to the Reunification Hall, formerly the Presidential Palace of South Vietnam. It was here that a North Vietnamese tank famously crashed through the gates bringing an end to the long Vietnam War and the building has been preserved exactly as it was in 1975.

    Then stroll around the impressive old French-built post office and Notre Dame Cathedral before continuing to the City Hall area, another grand old colonial-era relic. We then leave guests free to explore the famous Dong Khoi area, home to the legendary Continental Hotel, made famous by Graham Greene in the Quiet American, and lots of popular restaurants, bars and boutiques.

  • Day 11

    Cu Chi Tunnels (B)

    After breakfast, depart for Cu Chi Tunnels. Located about 70 kilometers to the northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi Tunnels were created to assist the Viet Minh to combat the French in 1948. This is an underground city with living areas, kitchens, storages, weapon shops, field hospitals, and command centers. During the American War the entire area of Cu Chi was designated a fire free zone and was heavily bombarded. From 1988, two sections of the tunnels have been open for visitors (To have an in-depth look about the Vietnam war we recommend the guidance of a war veteran who witnessed and have more than 20 year living in Cu Chi tunnel. Surcharge will be applied). Return to your hotel at noon time. Afternoon is your free time.

  • Day 12

    Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – Can Tho (B, L)

    The “rice bowl” of Vietnam, Mekong delta is carpeted with rice paddies, floating markets, crisscross rivers and canals. Ben Tre, popular known for coconut, attracts visitors to its fresh-aired environment of large green coconut & fruits gardens. Join us, experience the slow pace delta life, meet very friendly local, feel the generous hospitality and blow away the stresses of modern life.

    Leave bustling Saigon behind, head out to un-touched areas not well-known by tourists in Ben Tre. Board the Apricot Cruise, featuring open on all sides to allow the river breezes to flow freely. From the comfort of your Apricot Cruise, meander down the Mekong observing local life play out along the river banks. Stop at some local families and see how local traditional methods utilize every bit of the coconut. Learn how to make local cakes, and why you don’t let a local fortune-teller tell you what is supposed to happen in the future.

    It is a full day of interesting experiences: boat rowing through winding water-coconut canals, bike riding along lush rural roads, sampling tasty local cakes, tea with honey, and enjoying lunch served with Mekong specialties at Apricot Riverside Restaurant. Relax, enjoy the tour and have memorable experiences.

    After the visit, the boat will be waiting for you at the pier nearby to bring you back to Ben Tre city where your car is ready to take you deeper into the Mekong delta to Can Tho City. The evening is your free time to explore the night market.

  • Day 13

    Can Tho – Cai Rang Floating Market – Ho Chi Minh City (B)

    Early morning cruising along the picturesque tributaries by motorboat, you will visit the Cai Rang Floating Market – the busiest but nicest one with heaps of boats. See the beautiful scenery and daily activities of the locals. Walk around a village and visit a rice husking mill. Disembark at Ninh Kieu quay, continue visit to Binh Thuy Ancient House. Then transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City.

    Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

     

  • Day 14

    Ho Chi Minh City – Departure (B)

     Leave some time free to soak up the atmosphere of the city before we end our Vietnam Luxury Tour and being transferred to airport for our onward flight.

A. CANCELLATION POLICY:
The cancellation charges below refer to the non-transferable fee that is charged to the group member who has cancelled their tour:

  • More than 45 days before departure: No cancellation charge
  • Between 45 and 30 days before departure: 10% of total tour cost 
  • Between 30 days and 15 days before departure: 25% of total tour cost
  • Between 15 days and 7 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
  • Less than 7 days before departure: 90% of total tour cost
  • No-show at the airport on the day of arrival/departure: 100% of total tour cost

  • Child from 1- 4 yrs:  Free of charge if sharing bed with parents 
  • Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 30% of adult price if sharing existing bed(s) with parents
  • Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 50% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
