Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Phnom Penh – Arrival

     Upon arrival, meet and transfer airport to hotel. Start the Phnom Penh city sightseeing tour with a visit to the Royal Palace compound build in 1866 by the Predecessors of King Norodom which is the most conspicuous feature and also one of impressive colorful Khmer-style Palaces. Nearside the Royal Palace is Silver Pagoda (The Emerald Buddha temple), display plenty of Buddha Statues that were decorated and made by diamond, emerald, gold and silver, continuing visit to National Museum, the distinctive red building with a beautiful Khmer architecture was build since 1917 and contains more than 5000 art objects made of sandstone, bronze, silver, copper, wood and others. You will proceed to visit Independence Monument which was constructed in 1954 after Cambodian took their country back from French colony.

  • Day 2

    Phnom Penh - Silk Weaving Island (B)

     Take a trip to Silk Island just a short boat ride outside of Phnom Penh. Meet the families who are still maintaining the old traditions of hand looming silk and dying it to bright hues. You’ll be amazed by the homemade spinning wheels made from old bicycle parts. Watch as the silk is transformed from a cotton wool-like texture into thread. If you like you can try your hand at weaving or purchase silk items direct from the family. Return to your hotel at noon time, en-route, stop to visit & shop at the Central Market.

  • Day 3

    Phnom Penh – Battambang via Kompong Luong (B/L)

     Leave Phnom Penh and travel west towards Battambang province, the rice bowl of Cambodia. Pass through the busy riverside town of Kompong Chhnang and later turn off the main road to visit the floating town of Kompong Luong. Getting to the largest floating community on the Tonle Sap Lake,  explore by boat and experience life in a real floating community untouched by mass tourism. Later head to the provincial capital of Pursat for lunch and arrive in Battambang late afternoon.

  • Day 4

    Battambang lifestyle (B)

     After breakfast, travel to Wat Koh district to visit a local village and learn about rural life in Cambodia. Learn about the rice harvest, fruit farming and how the sugar palm is used. After our village visit, board the simple bamboo train to travel back towards Battambang. These 'local trains' are bamboo platforms with wheels and they fly along the rail tracks offering great views of the surrounding countryside.

     
    Continue travel to the hilltop temple of Wat Banan. The winding road follows the Sangker River and passes by many traditional wooden homes, offering an authentic glimpse of rural Cambodia. Arriving at the temple, you ascend to the summit and are rewarded with striking views of the surrounding plains. We continue to Phnom Sampeau, a sacred mountain dotted with interesting pagodas and stupas. There is also a moving memorial to Khmer Rouge victims who were thrown into one of the many caves that pepper this holy mountain. Then return to Battambang town for the night.

  • Day 5

    Battambang - Siem Reap (B)

     Free time and drive back to Siem Reap city (3 hour drive). Rest of day is your free time.

  • Day 6

    Siem Reap – Elephant ride, Angkor Thom, Bayon, Angkor Wat (B)

     Start the day with an elephant ride past the temples, you’ll feel like Khmer royalty! Explore the temples of Angkor Thom today the main highlight is the Bayon with its hundreds of smiling faces and the stories of the Khmer empire carved along its walls.  See the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.

     
    After noon, visit the famous temple: Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology. We continue to visit the fabulous Ta Prohm embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. Ta Prohm was built in the 12th century. It’s a Buddhist temple dedicated to the mother of King Jayavarman VII.
     
    Overnight in Siem Reap.
  • Day 7

    Siem Reap – Kulen Mountain (B/L)

     Today drive about two hours to Phnom Kulen, trek up to the mountain top where the river is filled with hundreds of lingas. Walk to visit an eight meter reclining Buddha is cut into the face of the mountain. Continue walking to the waterfall, swimming and enjoy picnic lunch.

     
    Return your hotel in mid-afternoon. Free time

  • Day 8

    Siem Reap – Departure (B)

     Free time for shopping until departure to the airport for onward flight.

  A. CANCELLATION POLICY:

The cancellation charges below refer to the non-transferable fee that is charged to the group member who has cancelled their tour:
  • More than 45 days before departure: No cancellation charge
  • Between 45 and 30 days before departure: 10% of total tour cost 
  • Between 30 days and 15 days before departure: 25% of total tour cost
  • Between 15 days and 7 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
  • Less than 7 days before departure: 90% of total tour cost
  • No-show at the airport on the day of arrival/departure: 100% of total tour cost
 
B. CHILDREN POLICY (land service only)
  • Child from 1- 4 yrs:  Free of charge if sharing bed with parents 
  • Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 30% of adult price if sharing existing bed(s) with parents
  • Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 50% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
  • Child from 7 – 11 yrs: charge 75% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
