Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1

    HANOI – ARRIVAL

     Upon arrival in Hanoi - a thousand years Capital, meet and transfer to hotel in the city central. Rest of day is your free time at leisure.

     
    Overnight in Hanoi.
  • Day 2

    HANOI CITY – NIGHT TRAIN TO LAO CAI (B/L/-)

     Spend the whole day joining in a Hanoi city tour to explore this capital city. Firstly, visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his modest stilt house where he chose to live and work and also the museum dedicated to his memory. Continue visiting the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam dating back to the 11th century. Nowadays, students come and pray for a good luck in their examinations.

     
    In the afternoon, visit the largest and most interesting Museum of Vietnam Ethnology. Return to city down town, discover the famed Old Quarter on foot. Walk through the hidden alleys and amazed at the old style tube houses, visit the lively local market and lovely peaceful temple Bach Ma. Next, hop on a traditional bicycle rickshaws move at leisure pace that’s perfect for photos and slow-moving sightseeing. Sit back and relax while your driver weaves through the busy streets, dodging speeding motorbikes and rolling past French colonial houses. As the local do, sit down at a local café by the main church, enjoy a cup of ‘Tra Chanh’ – green tea with lime and chat with the youth. Free time until driver transfer you to station. Take the local train to Lao Cai – Sapa. Overnight on train (compartment of 4-berths sharing, soft bed, a/c)
     
    Note: Shorts and tank tops are not allowed in Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum & pagodas.
  • Day 3

    LAO CAI – SAPA – TREK LAO CHAI – TA VAN – MA TRA VILLAGES (B/L/-)

     SOFT TREK

     
    Upon arrival at Lao Cai, your local guide and car will pick you up and transfer you to Sapa. Enjoy the breakfast at a restaurant and relax before continue drive to Lao Chai Village of Black H’mong people. Take a light trek through Muong Hoa Valley with beautiful scenery to Ta Van Village of Dzay ethnic people. Continue to visit the Ma Tra village. Then return to Sapa for overnight. 
  • Day 4

    SAPA – TREK SA SENG – HAU THAO – GIANG TA CHAI – NIGHT TRAIN TO HANOI (B/L/-)

     INTERMEDIATE TREK

     
    Breakfast at hotel and the car will drive you to Sa Seng Village. Here you will have a panoramic view of the whole Sapa town, with beautiful green landscape. We see the Muong Hoa valley, inhabited villages ethnic black H’Mong. Continue to Chua Sau village. Upon arriving, we start to trek for about 03 hours to tribes Hau Thao and Giang Ta Chai. On the road, the landscape opened our eyes more and more fantastic and beautiful: the stairs of rice fields, the houses of local people. Picnic lunch and return to Sapa before transfer to Lao Cai for a train to Hanoi. Overnight in shared cabin of 04 berth soft on train.
  • Day 5

    HANOI – HA LONG BAY – THE WORLD HERITAGE (B/L/D)

     Early arrive in Hanoi and check in sub-hotel for fresh up and breakfast.

     
    After breakfast, you are picked-up and transferred 3.5hours through the Red River Delta on our way to Halong city.
     
    Upon arrival, the crew will greet us abroad the traditional style junk with a refreshing welcome drink and then the cruise begins! While navigating the way through the emerald waters and limestone islands, lunch is served with delicious fresh seafood (vegetarians are also catered for). As cruising through the bay, marvel at the amazing karst scenery with different formations. Halong Bay is littered with hidden caves and grottoes and we’ll take some time to explore one of these. For those felling active you then can explore the bay by sea kayak. After the dinner, night fishing is available on the main deck. Overnight onboard on the bay.

  • Day 6

    HALONG BAY – HANOI (B/-/-)

     Early risers can enjoy the sunrise and the quiet breath-taking beauty of Halong Bay’s landscape. Continue cruising to explore more of the bay and enjoy the brunch breakfast before returning to the Jetty at noon time. Drive back to Hanoi city. Overnight in Hanoi.

  • Day 7

    HANOI - DONG HOI – PHONG NHA – KE BANG NATIONAL PARK (B/L/-)

     Early leave to airport for flight to Dong Hoi Town. Meet by local guide and drive 1 hour more to Phong Nha. Breakfast in restaurant, and then you visit Thien Duong Cave (Paradise Cave). Surrounded by forested karsts peaks, this remarkable cave system extends for 31km, though the first kilometer is opened for visit. The scale is breathtaking, as wooden staircases descend into a cathedral-like space with colossal stalagmites and glimmering stalactites.

     
    Continue to visit Nuoc Mooc eco-trail, a beautiful riverside retreat inside Phong Nha – Ke Bang national park. The wooden walkways and paths of the Nuoc Mooc Eco-trail extend over a kilometer through woods to the confluence of two rivers. Enjoy a picnic lunch in one of Nuoc Mooc’s breezy open-air pavilions, relax and swim in crystal clear water.
     
    Overnight in Phong Nha.
  • Day 8

    PHONG NHA - DMZ – KHE SANH – VINH MOC TUNNEL - HUE (B/-/-)

     After breakfast at hotel, depart for Dong Ha town. Visit Hien Luong Bridge, Ben Hai River – which marked the former border between North and South Vietnam from 1954 to 1972. Continue to Vinh Moc tunnels. Then visit the Rockpile, Dakrong Bridge; Ho Chi Minh trails on the way to Khe Sanh combat base – one of the violent battles in Quang Tri, one US base fell under attack in early 1968. You’ll also see the remaining of an old airfield. Visit the museum of Ta Con airport to see the things in nature of the fierce war, and how hard Quang Tri people fight against the enemy. Continue along the highway 1, you also learn about the history of old citadel of Quang Tri, Church of La Vang, stop – a network of tunnels built by villagers seeking shelter from bombings during the American War, this is the place where an entire village lived and fought for two and a half years. Arrive in Hue in late afternoon. Free time and overnight in Hue.

  • Day 9

    HUE CITY (B/-/-)

     After breakfast time, depart from your hotel and start today trip to explore Hue city, capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945 during the reign of the Nguyen dynasty emperors. Declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1993, the Citadel is only one of many well-preserved historical sites in the city and its environs. Walk through Dong Ba market that offers an array of goods and product, ranging from fresh vegetables to conical hats. Next, explore the most important relic – the Citadel, the intricately decorated tomb of Khai Dinh, and Minh Mang’s mausoleum located on the left bank of the Huong River, which represents the perfect harmony between nature and architecture. Take boat trip on Romantic Perfume River, visit Thien Mu pagoda. Overnight in Hue city.

  • Day 10

    HUE – DANANG – HOI AN (B/-/-)

     After breakfast, depart Hue for Hoi An along the Highway 1. This drive is reputedly the most beautiful in all Vietnam. The drive passes the coastal fishing settlements, most notably Lang Co with its stunning lagoon backdrop and takes us over Hai Van Pass ‘pass of the ocean clouds’. Arrive in Hoi An at noon time.

     
    In the afternoon, you will do an easy walking tour to visit Hoi An ancient town, recently named as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Visit Tan Ky House, a late 18th-century merchant’s residence. The Fukhien Association, also known as the Assembly Hall of the Fujian Chinese Congregation, was founded as a place where minority Fujian Chinese could hold meetings, the Japanese bridge.  Next, visit the temple for the worship of Thien Hau, goddess of the sea and protector of fishermen and sailors.   • Day 11

    HOI AN – MY SON SANCTUARY BY CAR AND BACK BY BOAT (B/L/-)

     Drive about 50km from Hoi An to My Son sanctuary. It comprises many Champa temples, in a valley roughly two kilometers wide, surrounded by two mountain ranges. It was the site of religious ceremony of kings of the Champa dynasty, and was also a burial place of Champa royals and national heroes. The My Son temple complex is one of the foremost temple complexes of Hinduism in South East Asia and is the foremost heritage site of this nature in Vietnam. Though the complex has been destroyed over time, you still see many majestic ancient ruins of temples in the area. Leaving this site go back by car about 30 km then will go on a Boat trip along the Thu Bon River. Have a lunch box; disembark sometimes to visit the handicraft pottery village located along the riverside. Get back to the Hoian old town by boat.

     
    Free afternoon for shopping or relax. Overnight stay in Hoi An.
  • Day 12

    HOI AN – DANANG – NHA TRANG (B/- /-)

     Transfer to Da Nang Airport to fly to Nha Trang. Relax on the beach. Overnight stay in Nha Trang.

  • Day 13

    NHA TRANG – ISLANDS TOUR (B/L/-)

     Start from your hotel to Cau Da port. Tri Nguyen Aquarium on Mieu Island is the first place to visit, many sea species of Nha Trang/Khanh Hoa province make a small ocean world there. Mun Island is the best island for snorkeling where you can see lots of lives colorful corals and fish. Have lunch at Se Tre Island before returning to the city. 

     
    In the afternoon, visit Long Son Pagoda and Cham Po Nagar temples. Just next to Cham Po Nagar temples is the Thap Ba Hot Spring center. Enjoy fun with Mud bathing and Mineral springs swimming. Overnight in Nha Trang.
  • Day 14

    NHA TRANG – DALAT (B/-/-)

     In the morning, drive from coastal city to highland by road. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for fresh up.

     
    The afternoon, the half day tour take you to visit all the city highlights: Truc Lam Zen Monastery - the biggest Zen Monastery of Viet Nam, Lam Ty Li Pagoda, Bao Dai’s king Summer palace and Dalat market. Overnight in Dalat.
  • Day 15

    DALAT – CONQUERING LIANG BIANG MOUNT (B/-/-)

     Pick up from hotel. Transfer to Lang Biang Mountain, the highest peak from Dalat to the South of Vietnam. Trek from the base 1.450m (4.850f) to the summit 2.169m (7.000f). Pass vegetable farm, woods and rain forest. Enjoy the commanding view of the highlands. 

     
    Visit Lat village – the indigenous people of Dalat with their rich culture, long houses, weavings. Back to Dalat city for overnight.
  • Day 16

    DALAT – HO CHI MINH CITY (B/-/-)

     Breakfast at hotel and relax until your flight to Ho Chi Minh City

     
    Welcomed at International Tan Son Nhat airport by local driver and transferred to hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City
  • Day 17

    HO CHI MINH CITY – CU CHI TUNNELS (B/-/-)

     Take a guided tour of the Cu Chi tunnels with a veteran guide to gain deep insight and personal accounts of the wartime era. On arrival he will meet the group and take them on a guided tour of the tunnels together with Vietnamstay guide (his service is subject to availability). If desired (and not for the faint hearted and on own account) a round of bullets can be fired from an AK47 gun at a target range at the tunnels.

     
    Afternoon visit will offer a quick view of the busiest city including War Museum, Reunification Palace then discover China Town lively life. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Day 18

    HO CHI MINH CITY – EXCURSION TO MEKONG DELTA – CAN THO (B/L/-)

     After breakfast, leave behind the hustle and bustle of Saigon to delve into the Mekong Delta, a patchwork of emerald greens and the rice bowl of southern Vietnam. After 2 hours drive, arrive Ben Tre province crossing Rach Mieu Bridge, hop on a private motorize and cruise through the waterways and cannel of the Mekong delta to visit fruits orchards and learn about the local cottage industries like brick kiln-making, coconut processing, sleeping mats. Take a motorized cart (tuk tuk) or bicycle on shady paths, passing by green rice fiends and vegetable plains. Lunch is served in local restaurant.

     
    After lunch, we experience a rowing-boat ride along beautiful water palm creek before we continue by the motorized boat back to the pier. Continue by car to Can Tho City. Overnight in Can Tho.
  • Day 19

    CAN THO – HO CHI MINH CITY (B/L/-)

     Cruising along the small picturesque tributaries by rowing boat, we will see the Cai Rang floating market. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and the daily activities along the Mekong canals, visit a rice husking mill. Disembark at Ninh Kieu quay and visit an ancient house in Binh Thuy (10 km from Cantho city). Drive back to HCMC via My Tho. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

  • Day 20

    HO CHI MINH CITY – DEPARTURE (B/-/-)

     Leave some time free to soak up the atmosphere of the city before being transferred to airport for our onward flight.

 A. CANCELLATION POLICY:

The cancellation charges below refer to the non-transferable fee that is charged to the group member who has cancelled their tour:

  • More than 45 days before departure: No cancellation charge
  • Between 45 and 30 days before departure: 10% of total tour cost 
  • Between 30 days and 15 days before departure: 25% of total tour cost
  • Between 15 days and 7 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
  • Less than 7 days before departure: 90% of total tour cost
  • No-show at the airport on the day of arrival/departure: 100% of total tour cost

  • Child from 1- 4 yrs:  Free of charge if sharing bed with parents 
  • Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 30% of adult price if sharing existing bed(s) with parents
  • Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 50% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
  • Child from 7 – 11 yrs: charge 75% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
