Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Hanoi arrival – Hanoi at a glance

     Welcomed at Noi Bai International airport by the tour guide and transferred to your hotel. Relax after a long journey.

    This afternoon, visit to Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (close on Monday & Friday afternoon), his modest stilt house where he chose to live and work and also the museum dedicated to his memory. We continue visit to the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam dating back to the 11th century.
    Later, return to the city centre and stroll through Old Quarter from Hang Be Market to Thanh Ha wet market. Along the way delicacies, strange food items and an explanation of Vietnamese food practices will be given. This busy, eclectic market are alive with the sights and sounds of Hanoi and is the essence of Vietnamese culture.
    Continue through the streets of the Old Quarter to Dong Xuan market to sample some local street food such as pho tiu (noodle with pork) and bun dau (noodle with tofu). Your guide will explain the routine of Vietnam meal times and indigenous/unusual ingredients eaten. Stroll up ‘food alley’ to see other dishes on offer.
    Back into the inner of the Old Quarter – check specially treated fruit which are dependable on the seasons and a common snack in Vietnam. Last stop at one of the Old Quarter busiest (yet smallest) coffee shops for a well-earned sit down and coffee before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Hanoi city
  • Day 2

    Hanoi – Mai Chau valley (B/L/D)

     Nested in a valley amongst verdant hills in the northwestern highlands, Mai Chau’s stunning scenery offers excellent opportunities for trekking while providing a glimpse into the village life of the H’mong and White Thai ethnic hill tribes.

    After breakfast, you will leave Ha Noi for Mai Chau which is a part of many North Vietnam Tour. The driver will take you through a beautiful mountainous province of Hoa Binh which is located in the Southwest of the capital of Viet Nam. Four hours on the way, you’ll see gorgeous scenery dotted with limestone and rice paddies while passing several small villages of Thai, H’Mong, and Dao people.   
    Descending the last 14km of your first day of the tour on a steep mountain road into the stunning valley of Mai Chau, you will reach a village where your tasty lunch is prepared. Your comfortable bed tonight will be at a home in this quaint village where you can experience the rich culture and tradition of the Thai people.
    After lunch and a short rest, take an easy walk of 1-2 hours around the village and valley. And depending on the day of the month, you may visit Mai Chau Market and Van Village instead.  
    Overnight either at a homestay or at hotel.
  • Day 3

    Mai Chau – Cuc Phuong (B/L)

     Have breakfast at the homestay or at hotel then drive directly to Cuc Phuong National Park. First, visit the Endangered Primates Rescue Center. Visit the flora, fauna and one-thousand-year-old sequoia tree, and the cave of Prehistoric man in Cuc Phuong National Park. We will spend a night in Cuc Phuong before continue our north Vietnam tour

  • Day 4

    Cuc Phuong – Tam Coc – Ninh Binh (B/L)

     After breakfast, transfer Tam Coc - a more famous destination of north Vietnam tour. From here, hop on a local bike, ride 2.5 km (or optional of OX cart) through rural villages, limestone rocks and impressive rice paddy towards. Visit Bich Dong – cave pagoda and hike up to the mountain top for incredible countryside views. Continue with a traditional sampan during 2.5 hours in Tam Coc, visit caves with amazing stalactite jut down from the ceiling. Then we will spend a night in Ninh Binh

  • Day 5

    Ninh Binh – Halong Bay cruise (B/L/D)

     Depart from your hotel and drive 3.5 hours through the Red River Delta on your way to Halong city. Upon arrival, the crew will greet us abroad the traditional style junk with a refreshing welcome drink and then our cruise begins! As navigating the way through the emerald waters and limestone islands you are served a delicious lunch of fresh seafood (vegetarians are also catered for). While cruising through the bay, you marvel at the amazing karst scenery with different formations. Halong Bay is the highlight of north Vietnam tour and we’ll take some time to explore one of these. For those felling active you then can explore the bay by sea kayak. After your first evening’s dinner, night fishing is available from the boat.

  • Day 6

    Halong Bay – Hanoi (B)

     Early risers can enjoy the sunrise and the quiet breath-taking beauty of Halong Bay’s landscape. Continue cruising to explore more of the bay and enjoy the brunch breakfast before returning to the Jetty at noon time. Transfer back to Hanoi city. Rest of day is your leisure time.

    Overnight in Hanoi.
  • Day 7

    Hanoi - Departure (B)

     Free time for last minute shopping or optional visit before we end our North Vietnam Tour and transferring to Noi Bai airport for departure flight.

The cancellation charges below refer to the non-transferable fee that is charged to the group member who has cancelled their tour:

  • More than 45 days before departure: No cancellation charge
  • Between 45 and 30 days before departure: 10% of total tour cost 
  • Between 30 days and 15 days before departure: 25% of total tour cost
  • Between 15 days and 7 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
  • Less than 7 days before departure: 90% of total tour cost
  • No-show at the airport on the day of arrival/departure: 100% of total tour cost

B. CHILDREN POLICY (land service only)

  • Child from 1- 4 yrs:  Free of charge if sharing bed with parents 
  • Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 30% of adult price if sharing existing bed(s) with parents
  • Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 50% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
  • Child from 7 – 11 yrs: charge 75% of adult price if using extra bed/mattress in parents’ room
  • Child from 12 yrs up: pay as adult rate
