Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Luang Prabang - arrival

     Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. Landing in Luang Prabang, you will be met by our guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in before start our Laos 10 Days Tours.

  • Day 2

    Luang Prabang – full day city tour (B)

    There is a very special dawn visit to watch the monks collecting the alms.  As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks leave their pagodas and walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents.  It is a beautiful, serene ceremony that highlights the spiritualism of the Laos people. Visit Morning Market where you can find all ingredients for local food. Return to your hotel for breakfast.

     
    After breakfast, we start our Laos 10 days tour by visiting the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign. Continue our city tour with the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai.
     
    In the afternoon, visit the city's oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represent the classical architecture of Luang Prabang temple, then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, explore Street Night Bazaar, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.
     
     
  • Day 3

    Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Cave - Kuangsi Waterfall (B)

     After breakfast, aboard a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives you a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes? Return to the town for lunch at your own expense.

     
    In the afternoon, you will drive through the Luang Prabang countryside to Kuang Si Waterfalls.  Along the way by the Mekong River you will see gorgeous landscapes of many rice fields, hills and villages.  You will visit an ethnic minority at a village where their local culture has remained unchanged for centuries.  Upon reaching Kuang Si Waterfalls, relax and enjoy the magnificent natural surroundings. Afterwards we return to the Luang Prabang.
  • Day 4

    Luang Prabang – Xieng Khouang by road (B)

     Today, we will continue our Laos 10 days tour by driving 306km overland on up Hill Mountain with splendid natural scenery to Xiengkhouang, where was devastated by American bombing between 1964 and 1973. Upon arrival, transfer out to visit the Plain of Jars, an impressive archaeological site where hundreds of large stone jars are littered all over the plateau. If time permits, you will also visit the old capital of Muang Khoun and the nearby villages, home to the Hmong hill tribe people. They have an interesting local culture and a colorful history. Spend a night in Phonsavanh, the capital town of Xiengkhuang.

  • Day 5

    Xieng Khouang – Vientiane by plane (B)

     Breakfast, visit Central Market, and then free at leisure by own discovery for you to further explore the town before catching a flight back to Vientiane.  After checking into hotel, continue our sightseeing tour of Vientiane city. Start to visit the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.

  • Day 6

    Vientiane - Buddha Park (B)

     In the afternoon, drive to Buddha park, through Lao/Thai Friend ship Bridge, standing by on Mekong river bank. Return to town Then we pass by the major shopping area continuing to the Vientiane Central Market of Talad Sao, where the major goods display; including fresh food, household, textiles, gold, silver and ancient souvenir varied display and return to your hotel at noon time. Rest of day is your free time.

     
  • Day 7

    Vientiane – fly to Pakse – by land to Khong Island (B/L)

     Breakfast, take an early flight to Pakse. On arrival, drive on the National Road No. 13th south to Champassak and visit the ruins of Wat Phu, which is well known as the most important Hindu sanctuary of the Khmer Empire between 9th -13th centuries. Here is also a chance to visit some nearby Khmer temples and Buddhist shrines, after a shortstop visit, we continue to Khong Island by land and take a ferry boat to Khong Island this is also a highlights of our Laos 10 days tour.

  • Day 8

    Khong Island (B/L)

     Today, enjoy a cruise venturing into the widest reach of the Mekong River from where thousands of islets jut out in dry season, giving this area a lovely name "Siphandon". A long the way, stop at the Liphi Waterfalls and the fisherman village of Ban Khone. On return, take a short drive to the Lao-Cambodia border at Weukham and the sight of Khone Phapheng, which both South East Asia’s biggest waterfalls. 

  • Day 9

    Khong Island – Tadlo - Pakse (B/L)

     Upon leaving Khong Island, continue our journey towards Tadlo, throughBoloven Plateau where famous tea and coffee plantation and other lush vegetation and red surface of basaltic soil are incredible all along the way. En route, there are some opportunities to explore a part of Boloven Plateau and visit some hill villages of the Katu, Alak and Nge ethnic minority people, and return to Pakse by late evening. Overnight in Pakse. Enjoy the last night of Laos 10 days tour.

  • Day 10

    Khong Island – Departure (B)

    There is a free time for your own exploration of Pakse Town before catching either flight to Siem. End of Laos 10 days tour.

The cancellation charges below refer to the non-transferable fee that is charged to the group member who has cancelled their tour:
  • More than 45 days before departure: No cancellation charge
  • Between 45 and 30 days before departure: 10% of total tour cost 
  • Between 30 days and 15 days before departure: 25% of total tour cost
  • Between 15 days and 7 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
  • Less than 7 days before departure: 90% of total tour cost
  • No-show at the airport on the day of arrival/departure: 100% of total tour cost

  • Child from 1- 4 yrs:  Free of charge if sharing bed with parents 
  • Child from 5 – 6 yrs: charge 30% of adult price if sharing existing bed(s) with parents
